Local Adopt-A-Highway groups also are being asked to go out and clean their designated roadside areas to help improve the appearance of streets and roads throughout Vance County. The N.C. Department of Transportation and work crews from the N.C. Department of Corrections are expected to help clean up along roadsides during the week.\n\n \n\nClean-up supplies of gloves\, trash bags\, recycling bags and orange safety vests are available for groups during the Spring Litter Sweep Week. They can be picked up beginning Thursday\, April 16\, at the City Operations Center at 900 South Beckford Drive in Henderson\, and at the Vance County Schools' Administrative Services Center at 1724 Graham Avenue in Henderson. \n\n\n\nThe Recycling Day event will include the following vendors:\n\n \n\n Local Government Federal Credit Union (Shredding): accepting important\, personal documents for shredding.
